American Baling Products (ABP) was founded in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania in 2001. We are a manufacturer and distributor of industrial wire products, including bale ties, box wire, baling wire, and straighten-and-cut wire.

Our employees are solidly engrained in the local Elwood City community and many have been with the company for decades, joining ABP right out of school. We are committed to the latest technology, manufacturing procedures, and safety standards available in our industry. We provide a thorough onboarding and training program for all new employees, as well as existing employees who advance to new roles in our plant.

History

American Baling Products (ABP) and its sister company, American Steel Company (ASC)—a wire fabricator founded in 1905—represent a long-standing tradition of wire manufacturing excellence in Western Pennsylvania and across the United States. Both companies are family-owned, with the current ownership and management structure in place since 1990.

Our history, combined with modern manufacturing capabilities, allows us to deliver dependable products backed by decades of expertise.

Nick Cocagna

Vice President

Nick has over 40 years of experience in operations, financial management, and strategic leadership. Most recently, he served as Chief Information Officer and Financial Controller for a Pittsburgh-based group of companies providing comprehensive construction services. His extensive background in operational efficiency, technology, and business management strongly supports his role at ABP.

Jay brings over 40 years of experience to the company, with a career rooted in sales management and customer service for a nationally recognized product manufacturer. He is deeply committed to delivering high-quality products, building lasting customer relationships, and guiding ABP with a clear, long-term vision focused on growth, consistency, and performance.
